For over 45+ years Boy Scout Troop 861 has been based at Central Lutheran Church at 1000 Easton in Dallas, Texas near White Rock Lake.  Our meetings are held each Monday at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall.

Over it's long history, the troop has had about 18 Scoutmasters and advanced over 65 boys to the rank of Eagle Scout.  For the past several years an average of 4 boys per year have attained the Eagle rank.

The troop is active with White Rock District and is part of Circle 10 Council.  The troop attends two Camporees each year and will travel to Possum Kingdom lake for Summer Camp at Camp Constantin.  Occasionally they attend other Boy Scout camps out of our council such as Camp Hale in Oklahoma or Camp Alexander in Colorado.  That was a favorite and we will likely return in 2011.

A canoeing high adventure took them to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota at the Canadian border for about 6 days in August 2010.  There are photos on the site.  As more photos come in, they will be posted.

This past winter some of the boys wanted to return to the Big Bend area for a Winter Camp High Adventure.  The 2010 Winter Camp may be in Santa Fe or some similar snow and ski area.

In 2008 we had two high adventure events.  Boys of any age could attend the Texas Coastline Tour and only boys over 14 could be part of the Sea Base Sailing Adventure in Key West.
